Tottenham line up €60 million move for Georges Mikautadze
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Villarreal striker Georges Mikautadze.
According to Fichajes, they are impressed with the 24-year-old’s performances and they are willing to pay around €60 million in order to get the deal done. The Georgian international has previously shown his quality in the French league and he will look to make his mark in La Liga now.
It remains to be seen whether Villarreal are prepared to sanction his departure in the coming months. He has recently joined the club and they will not want to lose him easily. The La Liga side paid around €30 million in order to sign the Georgian striker and the opportunity to double their investment will be quite tempting.
Meanwhile, it is no surprise that Tottenham are looking at a striker. Richarlison continues to be linked with an exit from the club and they will need to replace him. In addition to that, Dominic Solanke has not been able to find the back of the net consistently since joining the club. His performances have been underwhelming and they need another player who can share the goalscoring burden with him.
Mikautadze would be a good signing
The 24-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes for Premier League football and he could be a very useful acquisition for Tottenham. The North London club have an ambitious project and they have a talented squad. The 24-year-old will be excited to join them. They have recently won a major trophy as well. It remains to be seen whether they can convince the Spanish club and the player regarding a potential move.
Tottenham have started the season well and they will look to sustain their current run of form. They need quality additions in order to compete with elite clubs in future. Adding the 24-year-old will help them improve going forward. Tottenham have not had a reliable goalscorer since the departure of Harry Kane and they will look to address that problem quickly.
