AC Milan competing with Chelsea in Joaquin Panichelli chase
Chelsea are interested in signing Joaquin Panichelli from Strasbourg.
According to Milan Live, AC Milan are also interested in the 23-year-old South American striker and it will be interesting to see if they can beat Chelsea to his signature. The striker has 7 goals in 8 matches this season and he could prove to be an excellent addition for both teams.
However, Chelsea are well stocked in the attacking unit right now after signing Joao Pedro and Liam Delap during the summer transfer window. They might not be able to accommodate another striker in the starting lineup. The 23-year-old will be hoping to play regularly at this stage of his career and joining the Italian club could be ideal.
Milan could use Panichelli
AC Milan need a quality striker to lead the line for them and the 23-year-old would be an excellent addition for them in the long run. He has shown his quality in France and there is no doubt that he has the ability to succeed in Italy as well. The player is highly talented and he has a bright future ahead of himself. He will look to play for a big club and the likes of Chelsea and Milan will be attractive destinations for him.
However, one has to consider the fact that his club Strasbourg are owned by the same company that owns Chelsea. Therefore, the Premier League club could have a major advantage in the race to sign him.
The transfer might eventually come down to the wishes of the player. If he decides to move to the Italian club, the French outfit could be under pressure to sell him to them. Chelsea have already invested in a couple of strikers and they should look to improve other areas of their squad. They should bring in an elite winger who will add goals and creativity to the side. They should look to bring in a quality central defender as well. They have suffered because of injury problems at the back and they need more depth in that area of the pitch.
