Leeds United ready to sell Jack Harrison if they secure replacement
Leeds United will reportedly cash in on 28-year-old English winger Jack Harrison in the winter transfer window if they secure a long-term replacement.
According to a report by Football Insider, Jack Harrison faces an uncertain future at Leeds United heading into the winter transfer window. The Whites are ready to part ways with the 28-year-old wide player. However, the West Yorkshire outfit will only cash in on the former Everton winger if they can secure a long-term replacement.
Jack Harrison and his situation
Jack Harrison has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining struggled for stability since joining Leeds United from Manchester City. The Englishman spent his formative years in England and the USA, passing through the youth divisions at Manchester United, Liverpool, and Black Rock FC before graduating from the youth division at Manhattan SC.
After that, the 28-year-old represented Wake Forest, Chicago Fire, and New York City FC before joining Manchester City. Meanwhile, Leeds United initially signed Harrison on loan in July 2018 before completing a permanent move 12 months later. However, the player has seen his stock plummet at Leeds United since they suffered relegation from the Premier League in the 2022/23 season.
The English winger subsequently spent two seasons on loan with Everton before returning to Leeds United this past summer. However, Harrison is a backup player for Daniel Farke, managing only 220 minutes of game time in seven appearances thus far for Leeds United. So, it is hardly surprising that he faces an uncertain future at Leeds United, with the West Yorkshire outfit ready to cash in on him in the winter transfer window.
What next?
Leeds United’s interest in cashing in on Jack Harrison is understandable. The West Yorkshire outfit heavily reinforced the offensive unit in the summer transfer window, which already had regular starters like Joel Piroe, Daniel James, and Wilfried Gnonto. Once James and Gnonto return from their injury-enforced layoffs, Harrison will barely get any game time.
So, the idea of parting ways suits Leeds United and Harrison, as he can spend the peak years of his career with a club that can give him regular game time. However, the Whites have defined the conditions to finalise the 28-year-old Englishman’s departure in the winter transfer window.
Leeds United will only cash in on Harrison in the coming weeks if they secure a long-term replacement. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the English winger as he looks to resurrect his stuttering fortunes.
