Barcelona scouting 23-year-old breakout Bundesliga forward
Barcelona are on the hunt for their future number nine, and have stopped for second and third looks at one of the stories of the young Bundesliga season. TSG Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani is enjoying a fine start to the year, and ranks joint-fourth in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts behind only Harry Kane, Can Uzun and Luis Diaz.
Asllani, 23, came through initially at Dynamo and then Union Berlin, before a €400k switch back in 2022. Since he has had loan spells at Austria Vienna, and then Elversberg last year. Reaching the play-off final with the latter, Asllani clicked in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring 19 goals and giving 10 assists in his 37 appearances. That form has continued this year back at parent club Hoffenheim, where Asllani has five goals and two assists in his seven appearances this season, one of which was in the German Pokal. He is averaging a goal contribution every 78 minutes thus far.
Marc-André ter Stegen has not yet made a decision on whether he will stay at FC Barcelona over the winter or move elsewhere. A transfer is no longer ruled out, despite other reports. @Plettigoal

Barcelona scouting Fisnik Asllani

It has been revealed by Florian Plettenberg of Sky DE that Barcelona are one of a number of sides scouting Asllani. They have been informed that he has a release clause in his contract for next summer, which runs until 2029. Asllani would be keen on a move to a Champions League club next summer too, and Plettenberg points out that his dream move would be to none other than the Blaugrana.

Vacancy in Barcelona’s attack next summer
All of this comes after a flurry of reports that Barcelona have told Robert Lewandowski that they have not yet made a decision on whether to extend the 37-year-old’s contract, with most expecting him to leave the club next summer. That would open up a spot for a more natural number nine to compete for a spot with Feran Torres. This week it has been revealed that Barcelona Director of Football Deco has also spoken to the agent of Dusan Vlahovic in recent months, who is out of contract next year.
