West Ham United unlikely to land Endrick in January
Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham United are unlikely to sign Real Madrid attacking sensation Endrick in January.
Endrick’s future has become a big talking point as the Brazilian wonderkid hasn’t had enough game time since joining Real Madrid. Los Blancos seem open to a potential loan departure of the teenage striker in the winter window.
West Ham United are one of the clubs that are keen on signing him, but according to a report from TEAMtalk, the Hammers are unlikely to get their hands on the Brazilian international despite having submitted a proposal.
Endrick made quite a name for himself on his way up at Palmeiras. His sensational rise caught the attention of quite a few top clubs, but Real Madrid were quick to strike a deal for the young striker.
They reached an agreement with the Brazilian club back in December 2022 for a 2024 transfer. They forked out €70 million to add him to their squad. While he had limited game time during his debut season, the 19-year-old did put in some jaw-dropping performances.
Endrick is struggling for minutes at Real Madrid
However, those weren’t enough to hand him an extended run in the team. While it was a promising start, things haven’t been that great for him in the new season as he is yet to play a game for Xabi Alonso’s team. The teenager missed the start because of an injury, and even though he is back in the mix, he has yet to take the field.
He has become a bench warmer at the club, and with the FIFA World Cup coming up next summer, his future has now become a big talking point. Endrick seeks regular minutes, something he might not get under Alonso. As a result, a move away has become a real possibility.
West Ham are keen on his signature, and they have already sent a loan proposal. While Endrick could leave Real Madrid on a temporary basis, the Hammers may not be able to convince him to join them in the winter window.
Dean Jones’ take on West Ham signing Endrick
While speaking about his future, TEAMtalk inside, Dean Jones said: “Endrick is probably going to be the target of loan offers in January, and it makes sense to me that West Ham are one of the clubs that put forward a proposal.
“It has been a tricky start to the season for the player, firstly because of injury, but then because of a struggle for minutes.
“If he is still not playing by the end of the year, then there is very little doubt that he is going to be offered the chance to move elsewhere.
“A permanent move is out of the question right now. But a loan to get him firing? I can see it being possible.
“West Ham are not looking in a particularly strong position right now to lure him away from the Bernabeu – but they would try.
“I reported this week how a young striker is wanted by the Hammers in January.
“Endrick is actually younger than they have been expected to go for, but he has a special level of quality that means they would go for it.
“They have been interested in him for a long time.”
While the Hammers will certainly try to convince him to join them, it will be interesting to see if they can convince him. The 19-year-old will have no shortage of interest, as a result, West Ham certainly have an uphil task of bringing him to London.
