Chelsea, Liverpool, PSG told to pay £80 million to sign Morgan Rogers

Aston Villa will reportedly demand in excess of £80 million to sell Morgan Rogers amid growing interest from top clubs.

According to Fichajes, Morgan Rogers is emerging as a big target for PSG, Liverpool and Chelsea ahead of future windows. Signing the attacker would not come easily as Aston Villa are reportedly set to demand in excess of £80 million for their prized asset.

Aston Villa are not in the best of positions to keep hold of their star names, owing to multiple issues in the background with PSR and UEFA FFP regulations. There are concerns about squad cost measures, as they have a massive wage bill that takes up more than 90% of their overall revenues, which could be unsustainable.

This is the No.1 reason why many of the top teams pondered an approach to sign Morgan Rogers in the summer. However, Aston Villa were steadfast in their stance about keeping him. With the 23-year-old Aston Villa playmaker tied until 2030, the Birmingham side have leverage in negotiations if they were to hold discussions with a suitor.

Chelsea were the most interested suitor as per multiple reports, and they have continued to keep tabs on his situation ahead of the future. Aston Villa know the growing interest in the England international and will demand in excess of £80 million to sell him, although a winter move may not be on the cards.

Liverpool and PSG are also among those interested, which could spark a bidding war of sorts in the near future should Aston Villa open the gates. PSG’s interest is a bit more curious as they are seeking some of the best young profiles from around, and the 23-year-old Aston Villa star certainly fits into the mould of player they seek.

Aston Villa to sell Morgan Rogers?

Aston Villa do not have any immediate plans to sell Rogers, although there could be a variety of factors that could change their stance. For starters, should a club playing in the UEFA Champions League come in and make a big offer, Unai Emery’s side may entertain the prospect of the sale as long as the money is more than their valuation of the 23-year-old.

Liverpool and Chelsea, alongside PSG, are constantly looking into the market for attacking solutions, with Morgan Rogers one of the most sought-after options in the market. However, the player is also reportedly in talks over a new deal, and in the scenario that he pens fresh terms, the speculation surrounding his future could end imminently, while allowing Villa to show their intention for the near future.
