West Ham United uninterested in selling Lucas Paqueta in January

West Ham United reportedly have no interest in considering any offers for Lucas Paqueta in January amid links with Brazilian sides.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, West Ham United have no desire to let Lucas Paqueta depart the club in January. The Hammers are set to be steadfast in their stance about keeping the playmaker amid fresh links with Brazilian sides.

Licas Paqueta has been a top performer for West Ham United since his £51 million club-record move from Lyon in the summer of 2022. The Brazilian playmaker has been a mainstay under multiple managers, but he has been surrounded by controversy following a betting investigation which did span for a long time.

With those charges now cleared, Paqueta was linked with a move away from the Hammers during the summer. Aston Villa were reportedly closing in on his signing late in the window, but Paqueta ultimately ended up staying put at West Ham for the foreseeable future.

The attacking midfielder was also visibly happy to have not made the move after his celebrations around deadline day during the win over Nottingham Forest. However, ahead of the winter transfer window, there are fresh links with a move away as Brazilian sides such as Flamengo are interested in Lucas Paqueta.

There is no clarity on whether Paqueta would like to get the move away from the London Stadium, where he still has a contract until 2027 with the option of another year. Flamengo have been ambitious enough to be able to attract some top talents in recent windows, and had hoped to find a solution for Paqueta’s arrival.

West Ham United are uninterested in Lucas Paqueta sale

West Ham United are steadfast in their stance that Paqueta will not be sold in the winter transfer window, and it is believed that the club considers him one of the key stars in their squad. New manager Nuno Espirito Santo also views the same way, as the Hammers are now being linked with Endrick as a striker option in January, with the club keen to sign one in the winter window.

Lucas Paqueta remains an integral part of the team despite their abysmal performances in this season and the last. With a new manager at the helm, there is plenty of optimism around the club to turn things around, as the £51 million playmaker will be seen as one of the key parts of the project at the London Stadium.
