Manchester United dealt blow in Carlos Baleba January pursuit

Brighton have no interest in parting ways with Carlos Baleba in January despite the persistent interest from Manchester United.

According to TalkSport, Brighton will not entertain any bid from Manchester United or any other side for Carlos Baleba in January. The Seagulls are under no pressure, either financial or sporting, to sell the midfielder amid reports he is unhappy at the club.

Manchester United did their part during the summer to get in the mix for Carlos Baleba. The interest from the Red Devils persisted for a few weeks, until it became clear that Brighton had no interest in even holding talks over a potential deal for the midfielder.

In short, Brighton were not planning on selling him, and their stance will stay strong ahead of the January window. Manchester United were not initially expected to make a move in the winter window, but reports keep suggesting they view the 21-year-old target as a key addition to their squad.

Manchester United will pursue Baleba in the future, irrespective of what transpires with Ruben Amorim’s future, meaning he is high on their list moving forward. However, Brighton have seemingly hinted they are under no real pressure, either financially or on the sporting side, to even consider a sale of the midfielder in January.

A host of other teams are also interested, which could create problems for Manchester United in pursuit of Baleba. In any case, Brighton are unlikely to entertain any proposals in the January window, which will come as a blow for the Red Devils in their efforts to improve their midfield.

Brighton’s stance on Carlos Baleba is clear

Baleba has not had the best of starts to the season despite Brightion effectively getting decent results so far. Reports were stating that Baleba’s head had been turned during the Manchester United saga, although Brighton does not believe that is enough to get them to sell the 21-year-old.

Further stories have stated, Baleba is somewhat unsettled at the club, but the Seagulls have all the power in negotiations when it comes to the midfielder. Hence, Manchester United may have to wait a little longer, at least until the summer, to make another attempt to sign the midfielder.
