Liverpool considering Eduardo Camavinga swoop

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Real Madrid utility man Eduardo Camavinga.

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Liverpool are interested in signing Eduardo Camavinga, and the Merseyside club are closely monitoring his situation at Real Madrid ahead of a potential transfer.

While they forked out a fortune to bolster their squad during the summer transfer window, Arne Slot still feels the need for more quality and depth in the centre of the park. The Dutch tactician wants more options in the holding role, and Camavinga is considered an ideal fit for his team because of his versatility.

The French international came up the ranks at Stade Rennais, and he made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Los Blancos in the summer of 2021. The 22-year-old has only gone from strength to strength since.

While he is not a regular starter, Eduardo Camavinga is a very valuable member of their squad. Not only can he feature in multiple positions in midfield, but he is also capable enough to chip in as a left-back when needed.

Camavinga could leave Real Madrid in 2026

However, of late, Eduardo Camavinga has not had enough game time. Last season, he only started 11 league games, and under Xabi Alonso, he seems to be behind Aurelien Tchouameni in the pecking order. Having not started a single league game so far, it seems he could end up pushing for a move in 2026.

Given the number of top clubs that are after his signature, the 22-year-old is unlikely to stick around if he does not get regular game time. Liverpool are well aware of his situation and could look to make the most out of it.

While speaking about his situation at Madrid, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey said, “Camavinga is a top performer and still only 22. Real Madrid love him, but within the Bernabeu, they know they can’t keep a player who isn’t playing – especially when he has other top clubs who would readily take him.

“He is one to keep an eye on. There are a few big names under Xabi Alonso that could very well be on the move in 2026. Liverpool are not the only club keeping an eye on Camavinga, but there would be few better landing spots.”

The Merseyside club were keen on signing him before he made the move to Real Madrid back in the day. The Reds have once again revived their interest in him. While Ryan Gravenberch is doing wonders in the holding role, they do not have quality options who can compete with him.

As a result, signing a top-quality midfielder is a priority for the Merseyside club. While Liverpool do have other options, they are actively looking to bring Camavinga to Anfield in 2026.
