Karl Etta Eyong wants La Liga stay amid Manchester United links
Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong reportedly wants to stay in La Liga beyond the 2025/26 season, thus dealing a blow to Manchester United while boosting Barcelona’s prospects.
According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Karl Etta Eyong is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing another striker next year despite securing Benjamin Sesko’s services this past summer. So, the 21-year-old Levante centre-forward has emerged as a target for them.
The Douala native is also a target for Barcelona, with the Blaugrana scouring the market for a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski. Meanwhile, the report has revealed the Levante striker’s stance, as he wants to stay in La Liga beyond the 2025/26 season. However, the Granotas hope to see a Premier League club triggering his release clause worth €30 million.
Karl Etta Eyong and his impact at Levante
Karl Etta Eyong has established himself as one of the best young attackers in La Liga since joining Levante from Villarreal this past summer. The 21-year-old striker already rose in prominence during his short spell with the Yellow Submarine. However, he has been a revelation for Levante in the early stages of the 2025/26 La Liga season.
The Cameroonian international has contributed to eight goals in only eight La Liga games by finding the back of the net five times and providing three assists. The youngster’s exploits have also helped him break into his national side this month. Meanwhile, Eyong’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona and Manchester United.
A man in demand
Manchester United’s interest in Karl Etta Eyong makes sense, even though they signed Benjamin Sesko this past summer.
As for Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski is on the wrong side of 30 and in the twilight of his career.
