Kenan Yildiz agrees new Juventus contract amid Arsenal, Chelsea links
Kenan Yildiz has reportedly agreed a new deal with Juventus, which could come as a bitter blow for Arsenal and Chelsea.
According to Ekrem Konur, Juventus have managed to tie down Kenan Yildiz to a new deal amid growing interest from Premier League sides. Arsenal and Chelsea may have to wait a while as their immediate plans to sign the Turkish international could be scuppered if the news on the fresh agreement turns out to be true.
Kenan Yildiz is steadily emerging as Juventus’s most important asset, with multiple media reports have already pointed towards big Premier League interest. The Turkish international has made himself a key man in the club’s plans for the present and future, with the Bianconeri not ready to sell him at this stage of their project.
Juventus were confident of agreeing a new deal with Yildiz, and it appears they have managed that. As per the report, the Bianconeri have managed to tie him down until 2030 with an annual salary of €5 million plus bonuses. The agreement effectively resembles a one-year extension on his previous deal, which may come with a significant pay rise.
Should the news of a new deal turn out to be true, then Chelsea and Arsenal could suffer a bitter blow in pursuit of the 20-year-old Serie A attacking sensation. Kenan Yildiz had been high on their list since the summer window ended, with both clubs widely expected to make moves in the future.
Juventus had already quoted a price tag in excess of €100 million, and with the new deal, they could potentially demand as much. The one-year extension on the 20-year-old Serie A attacking sensation’s existing contract offers protection of his value, which necessarily may not rule out a move from either Arsenal or Chelsea.
Juventus can keep Kenan Yildiz for now
Juventus are not financially flush at the moment, which could see them sell one of their top assets, such as Yildiz, in the future. Arsenal have scouted Yildiz as a potential addition to their left side of their attack, as one of Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli could leave next summer.
Chelsea had planned a move in 2026, and while they could be interested in January, the new deal all but scuppers the chances of a winter window deal. The Blues could go head-to-head with Arsenal next summer, and the new deal at Juventus gives the Serie A giants good power to demand a significant fee to sell Kenan Yildiz then.
