OGC Nice’s Moise Bombito suffers fractured tibia

OGC Nice have confirmed that Moise Bombito (25) suffered a fractured tibia during Sunday’s 2-2 draw against AS Monaco.

Bombito only returned the previous weekend, having missed the start of the season due to a stress fracture to that same tibia. The injury happened at the start of the second half. Folarin Balogun had got in front of the Canada international and was bearing down on goal. There was contact, Balogun fell, so did Bombito. A penalty was awarded and whilst Balogun was quick to get back to his feet, Bombito would not get back up. He was stretchered off, put straight in an ambulance and taken to hospital.

Nice then confirmed a tibia fracture. He is now set for a period of absence of several months. “We have lost a soldier,” said Nice’s Sofiane Diop in a mixed zone interview attended by Get French Football News. In defence, Le Gym are also without Mohamed Abdelmonem and Youssouf Ndayishimiye, both of whom are recovering from ACL injuries sustained at the end of last season.
