Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are ready to offload outcast Gabriel Jesus in January, amidst interest from Flamengo.

According to Ekrem Konur, Gabriel Jesus could end up parting ways with Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window. The Brazilian international is currently sidelined with an injury, but he could end up leaving the North London club once he is back fit.

The 28-year-old striker is no longer an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, and the club won’t mind sanctioning his departure as long as they get the right price. Gabriel Jesus could end up securing a return to Brazil, as Flamengo are one of the clubs keen on his signature.

After making a name for himself at Manchester City, the Brazilian forward joined Arsenal in the summer of 2022. While he was a key figure in the team in the initial years, of late, things haven’t been that great for him. He has struggled with injuries and has also gone down the pecking order.

With the North London club signing Viktor Gyokeres this summer, Gabriel Jesus was expected to be on his way out. While he was linked with a move away from the club, things didn’t go according to plan for the player as well as the Gunners.

Gabriel Jesus to return to Brazil?

The 28-year-old is currently nursing an ACL injury and is unlikely to be back until the start of 2026. While his contract at Arsenal runs until 2027, he is no longer a part of Arteta’s plans, and his time at the club could soon come to an end.

Flamengo are keeping a close eye on his situation and could make a move for him in January. They want to bring in a marquee forward, and Gabriel Jesus could certainly help their cause. Meanwhile, the player seems interested in securing a return to Brazil, as he feels a return to his home country could help him push for a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the World Cup next summer.

While Arsenal are open to talks about his future, they will only let him leave for the right offer. Despite his injury struggles, the 28-year-old is still a quality player and has a lot of football left in him. As a result, the Gunners won’t let him leave on the cheap.
