Chelsea, Liverpool rival Real Madrid in Micky van de Ven chase, Tottenham ready to offer double-your-money deal
Tottenham are ready to offer Micky van de Ven a bumper new deal as they look to keep Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid at bay.
According to a report from The Boy Hotspur, Tottenham are working on a new deal for Micky van de Ven. The North London club are ready to double his wages as they look to secure his long-term future amidst interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Van de Ven has only gone from strength to strength since joining Tottenham in the summer of 2023 from Wolfsburg. While he has had a few injury troubles, the 24-year-old has established himself as a key figure in the team, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
Real Madrid to face competition
His positioning, strong physical presence and his pace have stood out. Real Madrid are one of the clubs that have taken note of his performances, and they are interested in acquiring his services. The team in white could end up parting ways with David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger at the end of the season, and they are looking to bring in younger options for the long run.
Van de Ven is considered an ideal fit for their project, and they are willing to splash the cash for him. However, they will face competition from Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool.
With Ibrahima Konate’s future uncertain because of his contract situation, the Merseyside club are looking at the Dutch international as an ideal replacement. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also in the market for a new centre-back following the injury to Levi Colwill. Enzo Maresca is pushing for a world-class centre-back, and Van de Ven is on his wishlist.
Spurs are looking to secure Van de Ven’s future
While all three clubs are gearing up to make a move, Tottenham are trying their best to keep hold of the 24-year-old. The Dutch centre-back currently earns just £50,000 a week. While his contract runs until 2029, which does give Spurs some breathing room, they are looking to secure his future with a massive new contract.
The North London club are ready to double his wages (£100,000 per week) with a new deal as a strategic move to fend off interest. Their new CEO, Vinai Venkatesham, is already at work to ensure Van de Ven continues at the club for years to come.
