Manchester United considering Yehor Yarmolyuk swoop

Manchester United will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Ukrainian international Yehor Yarmolyuk from fellow Premier League club Brentford next year.

According to a report by Ukrainian outlet dynamo.kiev.ua, Yehor Yarmolyuk is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a holding midfielder next year. So, the 21-year-old Brentford midfielder has emerged as a target for them.

However, the Bees want to “do everything in their power to keep” the Verkhnyodniprovsk native, although they may fold if suitors present a bid worth at least £30 million. The report has pointed to Manchester United being “serious contenders” to secure Yarmolyuk’s services next year.

Yehor Yarmolyuk and his time at Brentford so far

Yehor Yarmolyuk has established himself as one of the most promising midfield prospects in the Premier League since joining Brentford from SC Dnipro-1 in July 2022. The 21-year-old spent his formative years in his homeland, and he graduated from the youth division at SC Dnipro-1 several years ago. However, the youngster has risen in prominence during his stint in the Premier League.

The Ukrainian international has had to bide his time since joining Brentford, and he has made over 50 appearances thus far for the West London club while amassing nearly 3,000 minutes of game time. Meanwhile, Yarmolyuk’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known Premier League clubs. Manchester United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature next year.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Manchester United’s interest in Yehor Yarmolyuk is understandable. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a holding midfielder, and they wanted to sign Carlos Baleba in the summer transfer window before the deal failed to see the light of day. While Baleba remains a target for Manchester United, they have other names on their wishlist.

Several candidates, including Elliot Anderson, have thus emerged on Manchester United’s radar, with Yarmolyuk also a viable target. However, Brentford will be eager to keep hold of the highly-rated midfielder after losing several pivotal figures in the summer transfer window, although his price tag starts at £30 million.

A price tag of at least £30 million makes Yarmolyuk an attractive target for Manchester United. It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils submit an appealing bid to sign the 21-year-old Ukrainian international in the coming months.
