Chelsea make move for Kenan Yildiz, Barcelona also keen

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are making moves to sign Juventus attacking sensation Kenan Yildiz, amidst interest from Barcelona.

According to Ekrem Konur, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Kenan Yildiz, and they have already made a move for the Juventus attacking sensation. Barcelona are also interested in the Turkish gem, who is quickly becoming one of the hottest properties in Europe.

Yildiz joined the Old Lady’s youth setup back in 2022 from Bayern Munich. Since making the move to Turin, he has only gone from strength to strength. In just over a year, the 20-year-old winger got promoted to the Serie A club’s first team, and he has established himself as one of their mainstays in no time.

Last season, the Turkish international was involved in a total of 52 matches, and he ended up contributing towards 21 goals. The youngster has carried that form into the new campaign, having contributed towards four goals in his first three league outings.

Yildiz’s sensational rise and impressive performances have put him on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in the world. Chelsea are believed to be one of the most serious suitors at this stage. The Blues added a lot of firepower to their attack this summer. However, they still seek more quality in the final third.

The West London club missed out on one of their top targets in Xavi Simons as he ended up joining rivals Tottenham. Enzo Maresca’s side have set aside those funds to bring in a creative player, and Kenan Yildiz is considered an ideal alternative.

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Yildiz

While Kenan Yildiz prefers playing as a left-winger, he can feature anywhere in attack. Meanwhile, he is only 20, making him the perfect fit for their project, which revolves around signing the best young players.

Chelsea have already made a move to sign the Turkish international. However, they won’t find it easy to strike a deal with Juventus. The Old Lady do not want to lose out on one of their most valuable assets. Since his contract runs until 2029, they are in no rush to cash in on him. They won’t let him leave for anything less than €100 million.

While it is a massive price tag, the West London club can certainly break the bank if they feel the need to. Apart from the Blues, Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old gem. However, the finances involved certainly make it very difficult for the Catalan giants.
