Real Madrid are hoping to make it four wins from four in La Liga, and they are on course to do so after taking the lead against Real Sociedad in the early stages at the Reale Arena.

Xabi Alonso’s side made a fast start in Donostia-San Sebastian when Kylian Mbappe set up Arda Guler to score, but the Frenchman was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up. However, he and his Real Madrid teammates have not been denied for long.

On 12 minutes, Mbappe was released in behind following a terrible pass from La Real midfielder Mikel Goti, and with only Alex Remiro to beat, he made no mistake – as expected.

It’s a fourth goal of the season for Mbappe, who was rather candid in an interview earlier this week. Alonso will be delighted with the start that his Real Madrid side has made on his homecoming, but he will be keen for more.
