Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle United tracking Dylan Lawlor
A host of Premier League teams are keeping close tabs on Cardiff City’s young defensive prodigy Dylan Lawlor ahead of future windows.
According to EFL Analysis, Cardiff City’s Dylan Lawlor is attracting big interest from some of the top Premier League sides. The likes of Tottenham, Chelsea and Newcastle United are eager to explore a move for the League One talent, who could be viewed as a future star at either of those clubs.
Cardiff City had a terrible end to the previous campaign in the Championship, as they suffered relegation to League One following Aaron Ramsey’s disastrous reign as interim manager. The club have since made a stellar start in the third tier of English football, which has brought about hope for an instant return to the Championship.
Cardiff have won five of their six games so far, with a draw included in those results. They have had a modest summer window, with Luton Town’s Gabriel Osho probably their best signing in the market. However, they can rely on some of the talents already at the club, including Dylan Lawlor.
Lawlor was recently called up by Craig Bellamy to the Welsh national side, which showcases his rise to prominence. However, with the increase in stature comes the danger for Cardiff to lose their 19-year-old Welsh defensive prodigy, with a host of Premier League sides already angling for a move.
Despite Lawlor signing a new deal recently, Cardiff could stare at the prospect of losing the 19-year-old Welsh defensive prodigy to one of the top-flight sides. The player himself could look to capitalise on his recent rise to prominence and take the big step in his career with a switch to one of the Premier League sides who are interested.
Which Premier League sides want Dylan Lawlor?
Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle United are the ones keen on signing the 19-year-old Welsh defensive prodigy, as those sides are eager to build their young defensive setup. It’s natural for those teams to eye a promising young defender, who could come in and compete for a place as well as add to the depth.
There’s a big possibility for one of those teams to make an approach, to get the player at a reasonable price. While Cardiff will be largely powerless if the player wishes to depart for the top flight, as all eyes will be on their valuation of the player.
