Arsenal ready to sell Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard

Arsenal are ready to offload Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus in the January window to get the best value for the attacking duo, as well as balance their squad.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are ready to sell the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard in the January window. The two attackers are in a strange situation at the club, as they could be sacrificed to acquire the best valuation possible for the duo, as well as balance their squad.

Arsenal had an unprecedented summer window, where they brought in eight new signings. The Gunners were focused on improving their attack, depth options, as well as avoiding being in another situation, such as last season, where multiple injuries derailed their campaign on all fronts.

Of those arriving at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta has ensured he has a new look attack, which could see the club sell the likes of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus as soon as January. Starting with the latter, the Brazilian is currently recovering from an ACL rupture, but is widely expected to make his return before the end of the calendar year.

However, when he does make his return, there’s a strong possibility Jesus will find himself as Arsenal’s third-choice striker behind summer arrival Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz when everybody is fit. Jesus was linked with a move to Palmeiras, but given his injury and potential unavailability until at least December, the likelihood of a move was remote.

He has a contract until 2027, which does allow Arsenal to get a reasonable value in January or even next summer. However, given the new arrivals as well as a tight squad, Arteta and Andrea Berta could lean towards trimming the team, which could see Jesus depart.

Arsenal pondering Leandro Trossard sale

There have been strange scenarios with Trossard, who was widely expected to be one of the departures but stayed put. In fact, he signed a new deal that takes his stay until 2027 with a significant salary increase. Besiktas made an offer after the European window closed, but that news died out as soon as it arrived.

Arsenal ruled out a late sale, as they do not want to take any risks until January at the very least. However, they are reportedly open to considering offers for the Belgian international, and the winger might even think about an exit if his game time reduces between now and January, especially given the World Cup is on the horizon.
