Yves Bissouma ready to leave Tottenham, reason revealed

Yves Bissouma could be ready to quit Tottenham in search of regular game time if his situation under Thomas Frank remains unchanged.

According to Football Insider, Yves Bissouma could angle an exit away from Tottenham either in the next few days or in January. The Malian midfielder wants to feature regularly in the team, and should his situation remain unchanged under new boss Thomas Frank, he could look at opportunities elsewhere.

Thomas Frank’s decision to omit Yves Bissouma from one of his pre-season games sent a message to the whole squad. The outspoken manager revealed that the midfielder’s repeated lateness to training sessions was the reason for his omission, and overall, the Malian has not made a good first impression on the Dane.

With Totternham also signing Joao Palhinha in the summer on loan from Bayern Munich, Bissouma is somewhat dispensable at the moment. Reports stated that Bissouma was ready to leave the club even after the summer transfer window ended for most European countries.

There were links to Fenerbahce, and considering the Turkish and Saudi windows are still open, there is every chance the midfielder could depart in the coming days. Bissouma is already into the final year of his deal, as Tottenham are hoping to recoup some of the £25 million they paid to Brighton for him back in 2022.

Bissouma’s links to Fenerbahce may have cooled down, but Saudi Arabia is still a distinct destination should he choose to pack his bags in a hurry before September 12. However, Spurs also held talks with West Ham briefly, which indicated the Hammers’ interest, and there is a chance for the £25 million Tottenham outcast to even leave in January.

Yves Bissouma wants regular game time

In his current situation, Frank seems unlikely to turn his attention towards Bissouma and play him regularly unless there is an unprecedented emergency. However, should his situation with Frank remain unchanged moving forward, Bissouma will look to quit with the desire to play regularly at the forefront of his plans.

Hence, he is ready to leave, probably even on short notice, to Saudi Arabia or Galatasaray. Alternatively, Bissouma could wait until January to gauge the overall market better, as there could still be opportunities, such as West Ham or any other Premier League sides in the winter window.
