Liverpool hoping to agree new deal with Arne Slot as talks open
Liverpool have opened talks with Arne Slot’s agents over a new deal, while hoping to come to an agreement with the Dutch tactician.
According to Indykaila News on X, Liverpool have formally opened talks with Arne Slot’s agent over a new deal for the manager. The Fenway Sports Group are impressed with the Dutchman and are hoping to thrash out a new agreement at the earliest to lock his future at Merseyside amid developing interest from Bayern Munich.
Arne Slot was known for his good work in the Eredivisie, where he helped Feyenoord win the league title. He was courted by teams like Tottenham right after the title-winning campaign in the Netherlands, but chose to stay put for another season.
Last year, Liverpool made the surprise decision to appoint Slot as the successor to long-serving manager Jurgen Klopp. The move came as a big surprise, especially for the club’s fans, given they were earlier keen on Xabi Alonso, while Ruben Amorim was also someone mentioned.
However, the idea to install Slot as their new manager has worked out brilliantly, with the Dutchman clinching the Premier League title in his first season at the club. Liverpool are thoroughly impressed with the 46-year-old and have opened talks with his agent over a new deal.
It appears Slot is thrilled by the offer presented, as Liverpool does not envisage any stumbling blocks to extend the future of key man at the helm. Bayern Munich were reportedly keeping close tabs on Slot as per the report, and with the idea of the Dutchman extending his stay at Merseyside, the Germans are set to be dealt a big blow.
Arne Slot promised elite players in the future
Liverpool have reportedly promised Slot with elite players in the future, and in truth, they have already delivered on that. The summer window saw Liverpool recruit the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike for big sums, which indicated they are extremely serious about success on the pitch.
They also signed Alexander Isak in a British record deal, which makes Liverpool more than the favourites for numerous titles. Should Fenway Sports Group continue on this level of recruitment, someone like Slot will not hesitate to sign on fresh terms, as the club, with their squad and this manager, seems to be on the right path.
