Raheem Sterling uninterested in Turkish, Saudi switch, ready to wait until January for next move

Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling has been linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window, but he failed to secure an exit before the deadline day.

According to GMS, clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are interested in the player, but the England international does not want to join them. He will wait until January for the next move.

The £47.5 million signing does not have a future at Chelsea, and it will be interesting to see if he’s willing to sit on the bench until the January window pulls up. He is unlikely to get regular opportunities at Chelsea this season. He was on loan at Arsenal last season, and he was quite mediocre for them. Sterling barely got any opportunities with the North London club, and he is unlikely to be an important player for Chelsea either.

Sterling is at the peak of his career, and he needs to play regularly. Sitting on the bench at Chelsea is unlikely to benefit him. In addition to that, with the World Cup coming up in 2026, he will want to cement his place in the England squad. Sitting on the bench at Chelsea for several months could be a huge blow to his chances of playing for England in what could be his final World Cup campaign.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Chelsea will be hoping to get rid of the player as soon as possible. He is on massive wages at the club, and he is unwanted. Chelsea will look to relieve their wage bill.

Sterling needs to move on

The move to Turkey or Saudi Arabia could have been ideal for the player at this stage of his career. There is no doubt that he used to be a top-class player, but he has clearly regressed in recent seasons. He is no longer good enough to start for a top Premier League club. Moving to Turkey or Saudi Arabia could have prolonged his career.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can convince the player to leave the club before the transfer window closes in the other European countries. Keeping him at the club until January does not make any sense for the London club. They have already brought in adequate depth in the attacking unit, and they will not be able to give the England international the opportunities he needs.
