France U21 game postponed following Luxembourg bus traffic accident

Today’s game between the U21 sides of France and Luxembourg has been postponed, according to Ouest-France. The outlet reports that the bus carrying the Luxembourg U21 team was involved in a traffic incident in Brittany on Thursday. Four players, three staff members and the bus driver have reportedly sustained minor injuries. The driver reportedly fainted at the wheel. The bus was found in a ditch near Languidic, in northwestern France.

Les Bleuets were set to host Luxembourg at Lorient’s Stade du Moustoir tonight at 6:30 pm as part of their campaign to qualify for the 2027 U21 Euros. In the aftermath of the bus crash, the Luxembourg FA have asked UEFA to postpone their game against Gérald Baticle’s France. UEFA have agreed to postpone the game to October 3, 2026. On Monday, the France U21 team will play Serbia in a friendly game at Lorient.
