Volendam bring in Chelsea youngster on loan
Volendam have added 18-year-old Chelsea prospect Kiano Dyer to the squad for the 2025/2026 Eredivisie season. The Dutch side have brought in the youngster on loan for the season as they look to ensure they remain in the top flight of Dutch football following their bounce back promotion last season. Dyer signed a new deal with the Premier League club before being sent out on loan to gain some valuable experience with Volendam in the Eredivisie.
Dyer has been part of the Chelsea academy for a few years now, but has made one senior appearance for the men’s team. During the Conference League campaign last season Dyer was given a handful of minutes in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory away to FC Astana.
The Chelsea youngster joins a Volendam side that are yet to lose this season, but are also yet to win. In four games in their return to the top flight they have drawn all four matches, including strong results against AZ Alkmaar and Ajax. However, they also drew 2-2 with fellow new boys Telstar. If the side have any hopes of remaining in the Eredivisie next season, they need to be able to beat fellow relegation candidates like Telstar. For Dyer, the season with Volendam should expose him to a different side of senior football and hopefully lead to more senior minutes.
