Tottenham establish contact over Randal Kolo Muani move, player offered to Newcastle United
Tottenham have knocked on the doors of PSG for the services of Randal Kolo Muani, who has been offered to Newcastle United.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have enquired about the availability of Randal Kolo Muani as they look to add more firepower to their squad on deadline day. They have a long-standing interest in the PSG forward and have established contact to learn more about a potential transfer.
The North London club have been informed about his availability. While Spurs are quite serious about their pursuit and the player seems interested in a move, the deal entirely depends on the financial side of things. PSG have made their demands quite clear, they are willing to sanction a loan departure, only if there is an obligation to buy.
Kolo Muani made a name for himself at Eintracht Frankfurt, and on the back of his impressive rise, PSG forked out £77 million to sign the 26-year-old striker back in 2023. Despite his massive potential, he failed to cement his spot in their team.
The French international ended up joining Juventus on a short loan spell for the second half of last season. He managed to revive himself during his spell at the Turin-based club. He was involved in a total of 22 matches and finished with 10 goals and three assists.
While he was expected to secure a permanent move to the Old Lady, they failed to strike a deal with PSG. With him available, Tottenham have reignited their interest in him, having failed to sign him during the winter window.
Newcastle could make a move for Kolo Muani
Apart from Spurs, Newcastle are also in the mix. The Magpies are in the market for a new number nine as they have agreed to sell Alexander Isak to Liverpool. According to a report from TBR, the Tyneside club have been offered the chance to sign Kolo Muani, and they have had serious discussions about signing the French international.
The player’s representatives are assessing options available, and Newcastle and Spurs seem to be likely destinations at this stage. While the Magpies were working on a deal to sign Yoane Wissa and Jorgen Strand Larsen, those moves look very tricky.
As a result, they are also considering making a move for Kolo Muani. However, PSG’s demand that any loan must include a buy obligation is seen as an issue for the Magpies. With Isak leaving and the deadline fast approaching, it will be interesting to see if Newcastle do make an offer in the next hours or if Spurs end up winning the race.
