Randal Kolo Muani set to join Tottenham Hotspur as deal agreed

Paris Saint-Germain outcast Randal Kolo Muani is reportedly on the verge of joining Tottenham on a season-long loan deal in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Randal Kolo Muani is on the cusp of joining Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites have wasted no time in securing an agreement over a season-long loan deal for the Paris Saint-Germain outcast, and the 2024/25 Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League winners have given their approval to the move.

With the Frenchman out of the PSG project and failing to secure his preferred move to Juventus, he gave the green light to the Tottenham move. Meanwhile, a separate update by Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the loan agreement has no purchase option for Tottenham; the North London club will fork out a fee worth €5 million for the season-long deal.

Randal Kolo Muani and his PSG problems

Randal Kolo Muani has seen his stock plummet since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Eintracht Frankfurt in a big-money deal in September 2023. The 26-year-old struggled to make his mark in his first 18 months at Parc des Princes before Juventus signed him on loan earlier this year.

The French striker was solid during his spell with Juventus, amassing ten goals and three assists in 22 outings. However, while Kolo Muani was eager to return to Juventus, a summer move has not materialised, with the Bianconeri zeroing in on Lois Openda as the offensive reinforcement. That gave Tottenham a window of opportunity to secure the PSG outcast’s services, and they have secured an agreement over a loan deal.

London calling

Randal Kolo Muani has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, considering Dominic Solanke is a long-term absentee due to an ankle injury. So, Richarlison is the only striker in Thomas Frank’s squad, forcing Tottenham to dip into the market for a new centre-forward.

The North London club wasted no time in pushing for a late loan deal for the Frenchman, who showed an inclination towards moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Lilywhites have now secured an agreement over a season-long loan deal without a purchase option. They will fork out a fee worth €5 million to sign Kolo Muani.

While the 26-year-old French international was desperate to return to Juventus, he will now join Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if Kolo Muani can rediscover his best form and guide the North London club to success once he completes his loan move.
