Liverpool hopeful of sealing Marc Guehi deal

Liverpool are hoping to wrap up a move for 25-year-old Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi before the summer transfer window closes.

Crystal Palace has been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks, and the Reds have already submitted an offer to get the deal done. Palace have been adamant that they do not want to lose Guehi.

However, the Reds are optimistic about signing the Englishman, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 25-year-old recently helped them with the FA Cup and the Community Shield. Guehi is the club captain at Crystal Palace, and he is certainly the best defender for them.

Losing the English international would be a blow for Crystal Palace, but the player is in the final year of his contract, and he has decided not to sign an extension. He wants to move on and join a big club.

Guehi wants to move on

The England international wants to fight for trophies, and Liverpool will be able to provide him with their platform. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can work out an agreement quickly. Liverpool will hope to sign Guehi for a reasonable amount of money.

Signing the 25-year-old will certainly help tighten up at the back. The Reds have looked vulnerable at the back in the early stages of the 2025/26 season. They need to improve in that area of the pitch if they want to win major trophies. Signing one of the best defenders in the Premier League would be a wise decision. Given his contract situation, he will be available on a bargain deal as well.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can convince Crystal Palace to sell Guehi. It is understandable why the Eagles do not want to lose them. The Englishman is one of their best players, and replacing him with just a few hours left in the window will be very difficult. He’s also the captain of the club, and they will miss his leadership qualities. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few hours.
