Leeds United advance talks to sign Facundo Buonanotte
Leeds United are now in concrete talks with Brighton & Hove Albion for the signing of Facundo Buonanotte on a season-long loan deal.
According to Ben Jacobs, Leeds United are closing in on signing Facundo Buonanotte as talks with Brighton & Hove Albion have entered an advanced stage. The Yorkshire side are looking to bring the 20-year-old playmaker on a season-long loan deal, and it appears the move could go over the line before the transfer deadline.
Leeds United have had a solid window upon their return to Premier League action. Daniel Farke is still aiming to bring fresh faces before the window shuts, and one of the key positions for the manager is the attacking midfield slot.
Leeds United have been linked with a few names like Manor Solomon and Emiliano Buendia, while it appears they may have narrowed down on their preferred target. Farke’s side are now in advanced talks with Brighton for the signing of Facundo Buonanotte.
They were also interested in Christantus Uche from Getafe, but it appears the Argentine attacker is a preferred target. Leeds United are closing in on a season-long loan deal for Buonanotte to help with Farke’s side for the season ahead.
Buonanotte did have plenty of interested clubs, many of which were playing in European competition. Leeds initially feared being priced out of a move owing to clubs playing continental football, but they are now the favourites to land the 20-year-old playmaker for the season ahead.
Facundo Buonanotte will be a good addition to Leeds United
Leeds United needed a creative spark in the team, as scoring goals will be a key factor for their season. Farke’s side does have options, but adding the 20-year-old playmaker would bring much more steel to their attacking play. Staying in the Premier League will be the primary goal, and the Argentine star could potentially help them massively in that regard.
As for Facundo Buonanotte, this is another chance to prove his worth to Brighton or someone else. While he had bright moments during the loan spell at Leicester City last season, he will want to establish himself as a top talent in the league for the future.
Whether Brighton are open to including a buy option of any sort remains to be seen, although at the moment this appears to be a straight loan without any conditions for Leeds United. However, these talks may not materialise, as Chelsea have reportedly swooped in to secure his services.
