Tyrell Malacia set for Elche move

Elche are closing in on the signing of unwanted 25-year-old Manchester United player Tyrell Malacia after talks over a loan deal.

According to VI, Elche could be closing in on the signing of Tyrell Malacia as talks with Manchester United took place over a loan deal. The Dutch star is unwanted at Old Trafford and could seek a move to the Spanish side to get back to his best after two injury-ravaged campaigns.

Manchester United have many key high-profile stars that they would like to get rid of before the transfer deadline in a few days. Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Tyrell Malacia are all part of that list, with the latter now able to find a solution over an exit from the club.

Malacia was told a while back that he’s not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans moving forward, and was even expected to leave around the January window. However, the 25-year-old Manchester United player has not found a solution to his immediate future so far in the summer, and with time running out, the club will push for his exit.

With a contract until 2026, this might be the best time to cash in for a modest fee, but Manchester United have struggled to get a deal over the line. AS Roma had an interest in him alongside unwanted winger Sancho, but a move never came to fruition.

Celtic were also interested in Malacia, but the 25-year-old Manchester United player had reservations about going to Glasgow, given they had only signed Kieran Tierney earlier in the summer. Now, it appears, Manchester United may accept a loan move for Malacia, which might see them trigger a one-year option on his deal, something the club tends to have in all player contracts.

Tyrell Malacia set to join Elche

The Spanish side have held talks with Malacia as well as Manchester United, with those conversations heading in a positive direction. It appears the negotiations have been over a loan deal, with Elche now confident of getting an agreement in place.

Malacia will be eager to get his career back on track after two injury-ravaged seasons, as there’s a big concern over his long-term prospects. Elche could potentially offer him regular game time in the upcoming season, and then, depending on his performances there, his long-term future could be sorted out next summer.
