Hayden Hackney wants Premier League move
Crystal Palace, Everton, and West Ham United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Middlesbrough midfield sensation Hayden Hackney.
According to a report from Football Insider, Hayden Hackney is keen on making the move to the Premier League, amidst interest from Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham United. The English midfielder has informed Middlesbrough that he would like to leave if an offer from any top-flight club comes in before the end of the transfer window.
Hackney has been a part of the Middlesbrough academy since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2022. The 23-year-old has established himself as one of their mainstays over the last three years.
The Englishman has played every minute of their Championship games in the new season, and he is a big reason why they have maintained a 100% record. While the youngster still has two years left on his deal, his future has become a big talking point, amidst interest from some top clubs in England.
Hackney is aware of the increasing interest in him, and he has informed the Boro that he would like to leave if a Premier League club comes knocking. Middlesbrough have no intentions of sanctioning his departure and are trying their best to hold onto him.
They do not want to lose out on one of their best players this late in the window. However, with the player keen on joining a Premier League club and Crystal Palace, West Ham and Everton pushing for his signature, Boro might not have too many options to play with.
Premier League trio could battle for Hackney
Both the Eagles and the Toffees are keen on adding more quality and depth to their midfield, and they consider Hackney an ideal fit for their projects. Crystal Palace have made it a habit to snap up the best talents from the lower divisions and turn them into stars, something that might help lure the player.
Meanwhile, West Ham are also quite impressed with his performances in the EFL Championship. Following a poor start to the new season, Graham Potter’s team are desperate for more quality in central midfield.
West Ham want someone who can rival James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek in the middle of the park. Hackney could certainly be of help. While the three Premier League outfits are keen on his signature, it will be interesting to see if they come forward with a formal offer.
