Tottenham exploring summer move for Christopher Nkunku

Tottenham are now exploring a move for Chelsea misfit Christopher Nkunku, with the player also linked with a return to the Bundesliga.

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham are set for a late scramble in the market to bring in a viable attack-minded player following recent disappointments. Spurs are now exploring a move for Chelsea misfit Christopher Nkunku, with the deal likely to be another complicated affair.

Tottenham are now entering into desperate territory when it comes to their desire to land a new attack-minded player. The injury-related loss of James Maddison and their earlier miss of Morgan Gibbs-White makes the attacking midfielder slot all the more important for Thomas Frank before the transfer window shuts.

They were on course to rectify the problem area with their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, but Arsenal have swooped in late and managed to hijack the move for the Crystal Palace star. Spurs are already looking out for alternatives, but most of their targets have complicated conditions around them.

Spurs have been linked with Nico Paz, with a deal for the Como star very much complex due to the involvement and control of Real Madrid. Tottenham had also earmarked Morgan Rogers as an alternative, although Aston Villa’s asking price, coupled with their desire to keep him, could make this move untenable for Tottenham in the remainder of the window.

Christopher Nkunku is the latest name on their list, as Chelsea are ready to offload the player who cost them £52 million back in 2023. The Frenchman does not have a place in Enzo Maresca’s plans moving forward, with the Blues actively trying to sell him in time to bring the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons.

Spurs to explore Christopher Nkunku move?

Tottenham are now eager to explore a move for the £52 million Chelsea misfit, although the report states, the Blues might be slightly reluctant to sell him to a Premier League rival. Bayern Munich were in talks earlier, and Chelsea might lean towards selling him abroad if an opportunity arose.

Christopher Nkunku is also open to making a return to the Bundesliga, where his former side RB Leipzig have held talks with Chelsea. However, should Spurs come in with an approach, he might even consider staying in England if the conditions are right for him. Even if Chelsea are somewhat reluctant, they have always been open to doing business with domestic rivals, which will provide Tottenham with hope on the £52 million misfit.
