Liverpool poised to submit formal offer to sign Milos Kerkez

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are reportedly set to table a formal offer to sign Bournemouth defensive sensation Milos Kerkez.

Liverpool might have secured the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s first season in charge but they are all set to undergo massive changes this summer as the Dutch manager wants to ensure they continue to dominate.

The Reds are working hard to sign a new right-back, and an attacking midfielder and also want to add a new left-back to the mix. Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is their priority target for the left flank and according to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are set to make a formal offer in the coming days.

Kerkez hasn’t looked back since joining the Cherries in the summer of 2023 from AZ Alkmaar. Not only has he established himself as a key figure in the team, but the 21-year-old is also widely regarded as one of the best young full-backs in England.

Liverpool want Kerkez as their new left-back

Multiple top clubs from across Europe are quite impressed with the Hungarian international’s performances and they are looking to sign him this summer. Liverpool are one of the clubs who want to add Milos Kerkez to their squad.

The Merseyside club are ready to part ways with Konstantinos Tsimikas as Slot doesn’t have him in his plans moving ahead. While Andrew Robertson has been a great servant for the club over the years, age is catching up to the Scottish international.

As a result, Slot wants a younger alternative who can challenge Robertson for a place in the XI and eventually take over from him. They consider Kerkez an ideal fit for their project and since he has enough experience of playing in the Premier League, it will hardly take him any time to settle at Liverpool.

They are all set to make a formal offer for the 21-year-old as they look to strike a deal in the near future. The Cherries want in excess of £40 million, as a result, it will be interesting to see if the Reds’ bid is close to that figure. Meanwhile, they already have a big boost in their pursuit as the player has given the green light to a move to Anfield.
