Mohammed Kudus does not want Saudi Pro League move amid Newcastle United links
Newcastle United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Mohammed Kudus as he is not keen on joining the Saudi Pro League.
Eddie Howe is keen on reinforcing his attack ahead of next season and West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus is one of the names on his shortlist. The Ghanaian international seems set for a move away from the Irons and he is on the wishlist of multiple Saudi Pro League clubs.
However, according to a report from Football Insider, the Magpies have received a massive boost in their pursuit of the 24-year-old as he is not keen on moving to the Middle East at this stage of his career. He wants to continue in Europe and wants to play at the highest level possible and Newcastle can now certainly fancy their chances.
Kudus made a name for himself at Ajax before joining the Hammers in the summer of 2023. He has been an integral part of their first team from the start. While his numbers this season were not as impressive as they were last season, he was still one of their standout players.
He still has three years left on his contract but his future is up in the air amidst interest from Newcastle and the Middle East. While he is a very important part of the Irons’ first team, they seem ready to negotiate his departure as it could help boost their finances and save them from breaching any Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Newcastle could end up signing Kudus
With West Ham ready to sell, Newcastle as well as Saudi Pro League clubs are willing to try their luck. While clubs from the Middle East have great financial strength, they are unlikely to win the race as Kudus doesn’t want to leave Europe this early in his career.
He wants to compete at the highest level and Newcastle could help him fulfil his ambitions as they have secured Champions League football for next season. Eddie Howe wants more quality on the right flank and considers Kudus as an ideal fit for his system.
The 24-year-old can not only feature on the right flank, but he can pretty much start anywhere in attack which could be an added boost for the Magpies. They have already received a massive boost and it will be interesting to see how things pan out from here on.
