Valencia demanding €20 million to sell Cristhian Mosquera

Arsenal and Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old Spanish youth international Cristhian Mosquera from La Liga club Valencia in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal and Aston Villa are keen on signing Cristhian Mosquera in the summer transfer window. Valencia will demand around €20 million to part ways with the Spanish youth international, with Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, and RB Leipzig also interested in him.

Who is Cristhian Mosquera?

Cristhian Mosquera has established himself as one of the best young prospects in La Liga since breaking into the first-team squad at Valencia CF. A native of Alicante, the Spaniard spent his formative years in his homeland, passing through the academies at SCD Carolinas and Hercules CF before graduating from Los Che’s youth division.

The 20-year-old broke into the first-team squad at the Mestalla midway through the 2021/22 season, and he has come leaps and bounds since then. Mosquera has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for Los Che while chipping in with one goal. In addition, the youngster was part of the squad that won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Meanwhile, Mosquera’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing the Spanish youth international, with Arsenal and Aston Villa among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Arsenal’s interest in Cristhian Mosquera is understandable. The Gunners are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu. So, the Valencia prospect has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.

As for Aston Villa, Axel Disasi will return to Chelsea after his loan deal ends. In addition, Tyrone Mings is on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the twilight of his career. So, Mosquera is an option worth considering, with Aston Villa ready to launch the offensive to sign the Spaniard.

Meanwhile, Valencia will demand around €20 million to part ways with Mosquera. The 20-year-old Spanish defender’s cost-effective valuation makes him an appealing target for prospective suitors, and a summer move may be on the cards for the youngster.
