Crystal Palace line up Andy Diouf move
Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of RC Lens midfield sensation Andy Diouf.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Crystal Palace could knock on the doors of RC Lens this summer to sign French youth international Andy Diouf. The Eagles have been tracking him for a while now and could finally make a move when the transfer window reopens.
The Stade Rennais graduate made a name for himself at FC Basel before joining Lens in the summer of 2023. Diouf has only gone from strength to strength over the last two seasons, and he has established himself as a key figure in the team.
The youngster was part of the French team that won the silver medal at the Olympics last summer. After some impressive performances on the global stage, he has followed it up with a strong season at Lens, featuring in 37 matches across all competitions and racking up over 2,500 minutes of first-team action.
Andy Diouf was ever-present in their midfield in the league under Will Still, and his consistency has put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs across Europe. While his contract at the Ligue 1 club runs until the summer of 2028, there are high chances of him making a move away this summer.
Diouf could join Crystal Palace this summer
Lens are expected to undergo major changes this summer. Not only could there be significant shifts in management, but several key players may also part ways with the club. Andy Diouf, one of the standout performers in his age group, could be on the move this summer if Lens receive a suitable financial offer.
While multiple clubs are interested in the Frenchman, he could be heading to the Premier League where Crystal Palace are very keen on signing him. Oliver Glasner wants to add more quality to his midfield and the versatile French youth international could do wonders for his team.
The Eagles have a long-standing interest in him and they were keen on signing him during the last winter window. While it did not work out in January, they are now set to reignite their pursuit of his signature. He could prove to be a great acquisition for the short as well as the long run. As a result, Glasner’s team are ready to invest in him.
