Chelsea working on deal to sign Jamie Gittens

Chelsea are reportedly working on exploring a move for Jamie Gittens and hope to beat Arsenal for the winger’s signature in the summer.

According to TBR, Chelsea are very much in the race for Jamie Gittens as they seek a left-sided winger to improve their attacking options. With their search for a left-sided wide player, any move for the Borussia Dortmund star will signal the end of Jadon Sancho’s time, as the Blues are hoping to bring the attacker back to England and hope to beat Arsenal for his signature.

Jamie Gittens has had a very productive season over at Borussia Dortmund, with 17 goals and assists to his name. While he may not be the most glittering name on the market, his suitability to a lot of top teams has ensured many big clubs are chasing him ahead of the summer.

Arsenal are certainly in the race, as Mikel Arteta seeks the new left finger to improve his attacking options. The Gunners are open to the idea of signing Gittens in the summer but will be wary of Borussia Dortmund’s £70 million asking price, as he is not alone on their list, with Nico Williams also seen as a big target.

Chelsea are also chasing Williams, as well as Rafael Leao ahead of the summer. The Blues seek a left-sided right-footed winger, and Gittens fits the bill, as he’s also of the right age profile that their transfer policy seeks to further a promising project.

Should Chelsea sign the 17 G/A Bundesliga attacking sensation, it will mark the end for Jadon Sancho at the club. The Blues are ready to pay a paltry penalty to Manchester United to get out of their agreement to sign the winger permanently.

Chelsea working on Jamie Gittens deal

Chelsea are already working on a deal to sign Jamie Gittens in the summer. Talks are expected to commence with Borussia Dortmund to finalise a fee, as the winger is open to making a return to England. The 20-year-old will have many choices including Arsenal as it remains to be seen where he might end up.

The Blues are reportedly eager to wrap up the move at the earliest to have Gittens in their plans for the club World Cup in the summer. It remains to be seen whether the Blues are serious about the Bundesliga winger, as there’s every chance they could pursue other targets and wrap up this requirement of a left winger at the earliest.
