Barcelona summer signing Gabriel Jesus has this week revealed the identity of the up-and-coming Blaugrana talent who has left him most impressed since arriving at the club.

The player in question? Brian Fariñas.

Young midfielder Fariñas spent this past summer carving out a place for himself in the senior setup in Catalunya’s capital. Just when it appeared as though the 20-year-old was set for a move to Girona, Hansi Flick made it known that he intended to afford Fariñas a place in his pre-season setup.

From here, the Spaniard took full advantage of the opportunity, shining in both training and across Barca’s pre-season fixture list.

And as alluded to above, Fariñas’ positive impression has evidently been felt by more than just manager Flick and his staff over recent months…

Asked by journalist Pablo Woolls Merino this week which La Masia talent has surprised him most since swapping Arsenal for Barcelona over the summer, Gabriel Jesus explained:

”I’d say Brian Fariñas, because everyone talks about Lamine, Pedri, and Gavi, but after training with him, I know he has incredible talent and a very bright future.”
