Spanish football’s two leading clubs are ready to go head-to-head for the latest occasion on the transfer market over the months ahead. This comes amid the understanding that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on a deal for Niko Iličević.

Iličević, for his part, is a 15-year-old midfielder, who chiefly takes to the pitch in an advanced role.

Despite his tender years, Iličević’s talents have already seen him reach the U19 setup of current employers Eintracht Frankfurt. He is also an U17 international with Germany.

The starlet’s technical abilities and eye for goal have long seen his name emerge as a prominent one in Germany, with Bayern Munich having been sniffing around Iličević’s signature for several years.

As alluded to above, though, interest now appears to have made its way outside the confines of the midfielder’s home country, too.

As per a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, citing Sky Sport:

‘Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, AC Milan and Inter Milan are closely monitoring the progress of this promising young player from Eintracht Frankfurt.’

Eintracht, for their part, are ready to fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the club’s crown jewel.
