Roma Line Up Two Acquisitions for the January Window

Roma are more likely to wait till January to further bolster their squad than to sign a free agent, even though they are evaluating a pair, and Jayden Oosterwolde and Endrick remain on their radar.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, things didn’t end well with the former and Fenerbahce after the medicals. The Giallorossi changed their mind after his injury proved more severe than expected. However, if he gets healthy in the next couple of months, the parties will likely be back at the negotiating table. They had set up a €17M deal.

In addition to keeping tabs on Oosterwolde, Roma will continue to be on the prowl for an attacker, with Endrick and Luiz Henrique still in their crosshairs. Per Corriere dello Sport, the Real Madrid forward told Wesley and some Brazilian friends that a move to the Italian capital will be a concrete possibility come January.

The Giallorossi and Milan tried repeatedly to convince Real Madrid to loan him out. However, José Mourinho insisted on keeping him. Still, if he doesn’t feature consistently enough or doesn’t fare well, he could be on the move in a few months. The Rossoneri did sign another weapon, Omari Hutchison, after missing out.

Our Take on Roma, Oosterwolde, and Endrick

The fact that they didn’t pivot away from the former and didn’t even target other options in his role might be a sign that they will indeed acquire him eventually. There are a pair of free-agent left-backs they could sign if they were desperate. Instead, they don’t really need another left-footed attacker while Matias Soulé and Paulo Dybala are still with them and thriving.
