PSG interested in Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in Parma FC goalkeeper Zion Suzuki (23) with a view to a summer transfer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Having enjoyed a standout World Cup with the Japanese national team, the Newark, New Jersey-born player also distinguished himself between the posts for the Gialloblu last season. Although his playing time was reduced due to a hand injury, Suzuki nevertheless made 22 appearances and kept six clean sheets for Parma.

Also reported to be on the radar of Aston Villa – who are seeking a successor to Emiliano Martínez (33), who is nearing a move away – and Leeds United, the 23-year-old goalkeeper could thus leave Emilia-Romagna for a fee of around €35m. A sum that would easily suit Parma, despite the fact that Suzuki’s contract ties him to the club until 2030.

For PSG, the Nippon represents a perfect transfer opportunity as part of their plan to strengthen the squad in the medium term, despite the presence of Matvey Safonov (27), Lucas Chevalier (24) and the recent arrival of the young Italian Alessandro Longoni (18).
