Barcelona star staying behind teammates for extra training after every session

Barcelona star Jules Koundé has spent the last couple of weeks ramping up efforts to regain the trust of head coach Hansi Flick. That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

Defender Koundé has for his part endured something of an underwhelming opening to the new campaign.

No longer considered first-choice in Barcelona’s backline, the Frenchman has been forced to make do with a start in just one of his side’s four La Liga outings.

The likes of Eric García, João Cancelo, youngster Xavi Espart and even Andreas Christensen now appear to be ahead of Koundé in the defensive setup of Hansi Flick and his staff.

As alluded to above, though, rather than hang his head and sulk, the former Sevilla man has already set about winning back his status as a starter.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Kounde is staying to train once the first team sessions are over. When his teammates leave the pitch and head to the dressing room, the Frenchman continues to work alongside the club’s physical trainers and physiotherapists.’

It now remains to be seen if these endeavours prove enough to convince his manager…
