Utrecht to convert Porto winger’s loan into a permanent transfer

ESPN are reporting that Utrecht have picked up the option to convert Angel Alarcon’s loan deal from Porto into a permanent transfer. According to the reports, the 22-year-old will cost Utrecht around €2m to sign him from Porto. Alarcon, who only joined Utrecht on loan from Porto in January, has signed a deal with Utrecht that will run until 2029.

Alarcon joined Utrecht with the side struggling in the Eredivisie, only for Ron Jans and the side to turn things around and end up in the European playoffs. The Porto youngster played 13 games for the side since joining, with three goals and three assists. Alarcon started all 13 of the games he played for Utrecht so far and it is not surprising that Utrecht were will to pick up the option they had with Porto.

Alarcon began his career in Barcelona, coming through the Barcelona youth system. The winger only played five games for the Barcelona first team before joining Porto in the summer of 2024. He now leaves Porto having made just six performances for the side.
