Predicted Arsenal lineup against Mansfield Town: Kepa, Jesus to return in much-changed side

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Gabriel Jesus will return to the Arsenal starting lineup when they take on Mansfield Town in the FA Cup fifth round at Field Mill on Saturday.

Arsenal will aim to secure a spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals when they lock horns with Mansfield Town in the fifth-round clash at Field Mill on Saturday afternoon. Mikel Arteta has a new injury concern to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

William Saliba missed the Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion due to an ankle injury, and he will be unavailable to take on Mansfield Town. The French international accompanies Mikel Merino (foot) in the treatment room.

However, Max Dowman has recovered from an ankle injury, and the teenage sensation may be available to take on Mansfield Town this weekend. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Arteta provided a fitness update on Saliba. The Spanish tactician also discussed what Dowman has learned from his layoff.

The Arsenal manager said, “No, it’s the other one [not the same ankle as before]. We saw after the game he wasn’t comfortable to finish the game and after that, straight away, he didn’t have a good feeling. So let’s see if he recovers quickly.”

“[Dowman has learned] a lot. First of all, you miss playing, that’s the first thing, so don’t take it for granted because it can be taken away from you when you don’t expect it, and for a long time as well.”

“He had different routines, he starts to understand more the rehab coaches, the physio, the doctor, the importance of the scan, the discipline that you need to maintain yourself fit when you have an injury because if not, it’s going to take a long time to get back to your levels. But he’s done so well. He’s been looking really good in training and hopefully we can give him chances to play.”

Kepa Arrizabalaga will replace David Raya between the sticks, with Arsenal lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Mansfield Town on Saturday. The backline will feature Cristhian Mosquera, Marli Salmon, Riccardo Calafiori, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

As for the midfield unit, Christian Norgaard will line up alongside Eberechi Eze in the double pivot. Kai Havertz will reprise the no. 10 role, with Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli being the two wide attackers. Finally, Gabriel Jesus will lead the line for the away side against Mansfield Town this weekend.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Kepa; Mosquera, Salmon, Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly; Norgaard, Eze; Madueke, Havertz, Martinelli; Jesus
