Tottenham ready to sell Son Heung-min

Tottenham could potentially sell Son Heung-min this summer if they receive a viable offer for the fan favourite.

According to TBR, Son Heung-min’s time at Tottenham could come to an end before the transfer window shuts down. There are some clubs interested in the winger, and while the South Korean is yet to decide his immediate future, Spurs are open to a sale for the right offer.

There’s a big argument within the Tottenham fanbase about Son Heung-min and whether he should leave the club on a high note. The South Korean skippered the side to Europa League glory last season, and ended the club’s well-publicised trophy drought, which lasted for an incredible 17 years.

The 33-year-old is probably coming to the end of his cycle at Spurs, as the club had long thought about selling him this summer. Tottenham are moving aggressively in the market to secure key attacking signings, having made the move for Mathys Tel from Bayern, while they have signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham.

There are more attacking names on their list, but they might have to prioritise some sales first before making space for further additions. In the case of the Tottenham fan favourite, Son, he has interest from LAFC and Saudi Arabian clubs, which could prove lucrative enough for him to continue his career.

Fenerbahce had also made an offer, as per reports, and whether he likes the idea of joining the Turkish giants remains the question. Either way, Tottenham are seriously considering parting ways with their skipper for the right offer as they can still leverage the one remaining year on his current deal.

Son Heung-min’s decision after the Asia tour

While Tottenham are open to the prospect of offloading the fan favourite, they might not rush into a sale at the moment. Spurs are set for their pre-season tour of Asia, and South Korea will be a part of it, as Son will be a big attraction. Hence, any decision on his departure is likely to be made after the team returns to England.

However, there’s still the odd chance of the Tottenham fan favourite staying put if new boss Thomas Frank views his presence in a positive light. The skipper is likely to hold talks with the Dane as well as the club over his future in the coming period, as there’s the likelihood of his departure this summer.
