Arsenal want to hijack Atletico Madrid move for Noni Madueke
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly looking to hijack Atletico Madrid’s move for Chelsea attacking sensation Noni Madueke.
According to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal are keen on acquiring the services of Noni Madueke. The Gunners have stepped up their interest in the English international as they look to hijack Atletico Madrid’s move for the Chelsea forward.
Madueke joined the West London club at the start of 2023 from PSV Eindhoven in a deal worth £29 million. The 23-year-old winger has done a decent job since moving to Stamford Bridge, as he has contributed towards 29 goals in 91 outings.
While the Englishman has produced some brilliant performances from time to time, the Blues are not entirely satisfied with him. They expected a bigger impact, which has not materialised so far. Although Madueke still has five years left on his contract, Chelsea are now considering cashing in on him.
The English international is no longer an important part of Chelsea’s plans moving ahead, and they are ready to let him leave as long as a decent offer arrives. The Blues have already signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens this summer; as a result, Madueke certainly won’t have an important role next season.
Diego Simeone wants Noni Madueke at Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid are among the clubs closely monitoring Madueke’s situation. With Diego Simeone looking to add more firepower in the final third, the Spanish giants are on the hunt for a forward who offers a different profile to the options currently at his disposal.
While the English international has not quite exploded at Stamford Bridge, he is still considered a player with immense potential. Atletico Madrid have been working on a possible deal for some time now, but they are not alone in the race to sign the 23-year-old.
Arsenal looking to beat Atletico Madrid
Arsenal are also keen on Noni Madueke as Mikel Arteta wants to add a versatile forward to his squad. Madueke could provide cover to Bukayo Saka and can even feature on the left flank. The Gunners are pushing hard for his signature, and they are looking to steal a march on the Spanish giants.
The North London club have fully invested in the deal, and they have been in talks with the Chelsea winger’s camp. Recent reports have suggested that they already have the green light from the player. Arteta is eager to have the English winger in his squad, and with Arsenal in a much stronger financial position than the Madrid-based club, they are well placed to get a deal over the line.
