Serhou Guirassy to miss Borussia Dortmund’s next game due to injury: The diagnosis
Serhou Guirassy will miss Borussia Dortmund’s next game due to injury, Niko Kovac has confirmed during his press conference.
Borussia Dortmund are due to play Bundesliga newcomers and this season’s surprise package, SV Elversberg, on Saturday afternoon. However, BVB will now be without their main striker following an injury sustained during their midweek victory in the Champions League against Real Betis.
“Serhou has a strain and will therefore not be able to participate tomorrow”, Kovac explained.
It’s unclear whether the 30-year-old forward will join up with the Guinean national team ahead of the international break once the weekend concludes. For Kovac, he believes that the striker will remain in Germany for treatment:
“We’ll see how we proceed in the coming days; we’re in close contact with the federation. He will likely stay here, but we’ll discuss that further.”
With the absence of Guirassy, there will be opportunities for Maximilian Beier and Fabio Silva to lead the line up front.
