Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has revealed that he intends to afford a leading member of his midfield ranks a rest in the club’s next outing.

The Blancos star in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.

French international Tchouaméni was for his part in from the off for the latest occasion this evening, as Real Madrid made the trip to Santander for a La Liga meeting with Racing.

When all was said and done, the visitors emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result, keeping alive what has been an impressive recent resurgence.

The aforementioned Tchouaméni saw out the full 90 minutes, after also playing a starring role in Real Madrid’s victory over arch rivals Barcelona last time out.

And speaking to the media post-match, José Mourinho revealed precisely why the former AS Monaco man was not afforded any rest:

“I left on the pitch players who will be on the bench on Wednesday. Tchouaméni will not play, for example. This is how I manage the players.”
