Ex-Barcelona star Thierry Henry has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for the standout performance conjured up by Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham against his former employers.

The latest edition of El Clásico was of course contested this past weekend, at the Spotify Camp Nou. When all was said and done, it was visitors Real Madrid who emerged triumphant, condemning their arch rivals to a first defeat of the campaign.

Kylian Mbappé proved himself the star of the show, netting both goals en route to a 2-1 Blancos triumph.

But the aforementioned Jude Bellingham also played a starring role. From his advanced role in midfield, the Englishman was in nothing short of wonderful form, excelling in all aspects of the game.

Bellingham’s standout showing was capped by a brilliant piece of individual skill to kickstart the move which ultimately culminated in Real Madrid’s late winner.

And as alluded to above, one individual who couldn’t help but be impressed by the 23-year-old’s form was a one-time member of the attacking ranks at Barcelona.

Writing on the Betway insider blog, as cited by Marca, Thierry Henry gushed:

“The way he played reminded me of England’s match in Mexico. He protected the ball, turned past opponents, drew fouls, found a pass, or advanced on his own. What he did was absolutely incredible.”
