Antonio Conte hints at sabbatical amidst Manchester United & Juventus links

Antonio Conte won the Serie A with Napoli two seasons ago and took them back into the Champions League in the 2025/26 campaign. He left them in the summer, with Max Allegri having replaced him. The Italian has now revealed his plans for the ongoing campaign.

In recent weeks, there were suggestions that Manchester United and Juventus have been in the race for Conte. The Red Devils have been struggling for consistency under Michael Carrick and Juve, some weeks ago, were on a barren run under Luciano Spalletti.

Now, Conte has revealed he is looking to take a break in the ongoing campaign. He wasn’t present at the Trento Sports Festival but sent a special video message regarding his absence, while also confirming future plans.

He told media – via CalcioNapoli24: “I would have loved to be there, but I’m not in Italy right now I’m still enjoying my vacation since this year I have the opportunity to relax and unwind.”

Conte in no hurry

Even when the links emerged, it was clear those around Conte were simply creating noise around the Manchester United and Juve hotseats. It was their way of saying that the ex-Tottenham manager is interested in the jobs, even if they didn’t make an approach.

But for now, he would be focused on managing a big club, having buffed up his CV after the title win at Napoli.
