Official: Barcelona star named Nations League Player of the Round

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has this week seen his latest endeavours on the international front aptly recognised. This comes by way of the award for Nations League Player of the Round.

Wide-man Lamine is for his part fresh off another starring display in Spanish colours earlier this week.

Afforded a starting berth in La Roja’s Nations League meeting with Croatia, the 19-year-old went on to prove himself the game’s standout performer.

After opening the scoring inside the two-minute mark, Lamine followed up with a further goal as well as an assist, en route to a 4-1 triumph for the reigning world champions.

These decisive exploits proved enough to earn for the Barcelona prodigy a place on the shortlist for Nations League Player of the Round, alongside the likes of Portugal frontman João Félix.

And as alluded to above, on Thursday, Lamine has officially beaten out the competition, as confirmed in a post across UEFA’s social media platforms:
